Winnie
We have a 2-year-old Springer Spaniel called Winnie, and six weeks ago we had family suggesting we surrender Winnie because everyone was clearly unhappy and had been struggling for two years, and it genuinely seemed like the only option after many other approaches had failed.
Prior to working with Project: Happy Dog, bedtimes were a nightmare with constant barking and lack of sleep for everyone. Afternoons were incredibly stressful and unsettled, walks were terrifying because Winnie would suddenly bolt in different directions, pulling us over and causing injuries. As a family we were stressed and unhappy most of the time and it was tough.
Having worked with vets, trainers and behaviourists to no avail, Emma and Jess from Project:Happy Dog have been the only source of tangible results. They have taken the time to get to know our dog and what makes her tick. They collated data about Winnie and our family routine to design a specific support package for us. They have been patient and kind, kept us motivated and positive when we were overwhelmed, celebrated our successes with us and ultimately have held us accountable.
Winnie is now sleeping through the night without barking, can self-regulate and settle and we know how to avoid rehearsal of what we don’t want. We have been taught how to recognise signs that Winnie may be struggling, and have been given tools, techniques and games to meet her needs. We feel so much more in tune with our dog and her needs.
They have changed our lives for the better and we appreciate them so much. Total rockstars.

Badger
My partner and I recruited Jess to help us with our new puppy Badger. With her enthusiastic guidance and deep knowledge of dog behaviour we have gained a better understanding of what our puppy is thinking and how to shape his behaviour. Jess has taught is games that build up the puppy’s confidence, teach him self restraint and so much more.
After each session Jess has emailed us with a recap highlighting the information points and remind us of why we are playing with Badger in a certain way. Perhaps the biggest credit to Jess is that Badger loves her, she is calming when he is excited, he is eager as she keeps him rapt!
We look forward to our 1-on-1 sessions each week and I cannot emphasise how much we have learnt in such a short space of time. Thank you Jess!

Boyd
We don’t know where we would be without Jess and Emma! They’ve helped us so much with our 1yr old Golden, Boyd, and his reactivity/excitement towards other dogs. 8 weeks ago the thought of leaving the house to walk Boyd terrified us - given his size, strength and us never owning a dog before was so overwhelming.
Fast forward 8 weeks and I’m now able to take him for a walk and even longline walks on my own something I could only have dreamt of doing before!
The time and effort Jess and Emma have spent observing Boyd and understanding what makes him tick has allowed them to establish the basics through positive reinforcement with Boyd and their reactivity package has been invaluable - it’s something we would never have had the knowledge or capacity to do.
We’re really looking forward to continuing to work with Jess & Emma and build our own confidence and knowledge so we can give Boyd the happiest times!

Lenny
We have been working with Jess (and more recently Emma) for just over a year now with our very anxious Labrador, Lenny. Their extensive dog behaviour knowledge has helped guide us through some tough times and given us the tools to manage Lenny’s worries, which has improved our relationship with him no end and calmed him down considerably.
They continue to provide us with advice and support which is incredibly reassuring. It’s never going to be a quick fix with an anxious dog but having completed The Transformation Package in the summer we feel much better equipped going forward and their holistic approach to Lenny in terms of enrichment and stress relief has taught us how to always consider how full his ‘bucket’ is and helped us understand why he behaves in certain ways.
We look forward to continuing working with Project: Happy Dog and so does Lenny! He’s obsessed with Jess!

Emma and Jess are fantastic and I’d 100% recommend them for all of your dog training needs.
Not only do they have a wealth of knowledge and experience around dogs, they are also so supportive of you as the owner. They really help to build you up and feel more confident in your abilities.
They have helped us teach calmness to our very excitable pup, I was surprised to see a huge improvement in him after our first session.
The sessions are fun and informative and the ongoing support afterwards is brilliant too.

Emma and Jess have been helping me to get my 16 month old Springer to relax at home. Tough gig, right? Not for Emma and Jess. They have been instrumental in her progress from a pup that is my shadow, to one that has confidence to take herself off to bed, or off to play in the garden on her own. I have even started to see the benefits of this when I take her for a walk, too.
Their ability to listen to and understand any problem, before offering extensive advice and support makes working with them really easy and comforting that you are doing the right thing. Feedback is a key activity in the process for achieving goals and both Emma and Jess actively seek updates on how progress is going for both you and your pup. It shows how invested they are in your progress.
I would recommend Project Happy Dog to anyone who needs support or advice.

Jess and Emma have been amazing in helping us teach calmness to our over excited dog. We contacted Project Happy Dog in desperate need of help in calming our Frenchie around our new born baby. Just a couple of sessions in and we have already started to see massive changes.
Jess and Emma have provided us with the guidance and support to make this happen as well as being friendly and supportive of us being new parents.
Sessions are fun and relaxed and they are great with our dog. We would highly recommend to anyone looking to teach their dog calmness especially around babies/children.
